Mr. Morten Christiansen has served the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) since 1987 and was until 2019 Senior Vice President for IFU’s global investment activities. He has more than 30 years’ experience in strategy formulation, leadership and management, investments and investment management, governance and human resources.
Morten’s exposure to investments in Africa dates back to the early 1990’s, and he spent 2 years in West Africa under a programme to set up a Private Sector investment facility in the African Development Bank. He has over the years held numerous board positions including in financial sector enterprises in West, South, and East Africa. In 2019, he completed a 6-year term as board member in Norsad Finance Ltd., an investment company specialized in providing mezzanine financing to small and medium size enterprises all over the SADC region.
Morten is currently a board member in the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) as a nominee of Danida and IFU. In AGF, he is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and chairs the Human Resources Committee.
Morten holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages.
