Ms. Sophie Nkuutu

Ms. Sophie Nkuutu joined the Board in December 2018. She is the Founder and CEO of Michaela Foods & Beverages Limited. A seasoned accountant, consultant and project manager, Sophie has p held positions in various sectors, both profit and non-profit.

Sophie served as Project Management Consultant for dfcu Bank Uganda, leading the Finacle 10 core banking system implementation and the Business Process Reengineering Projects. She previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Vodafone (Afrimax) Uganda, and at dfcu Bank Uganda. Prior to that Sophie enjoyed a 12-year career with PwC in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia at both country and regional levels, in Finance, Project Management and Advisory roles. Sophie began her accounting career in the UK working for The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, The Royal Marsden NHS Trust and the auction house Christie’s International Limited.

A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), Sophie holds a first-class degree in Business Studies from London Metropolitan University as well as credentials in Information Systems and Control Audit (ISACA), Prince II project management and Business process management. Sophie has trained widely on Corporate Governance, Human Resource Management, Change Management, Business Process Management, Project Management and Management Information Systems.

Sophie is a Non-Executive Director of UAP Life Insurance Company of Uganda, aBi Development and aBi 2020 Limited (formerly aBi Finance). She formerly served on the Board of African Alliance Uganda Limited.
